Thank you very much. I really enjoy looking thru this album (from the other tread on ACW Board). I own quite a few figures for both Confederate and Union troops and it really inspired me to go back at them and paint some more.

It was an inspiring mini-campaign indeed.  I only visited, but I must admire my fellow TSA'rs to have spent the first really sunny long weekend of the year indoors!

I had another look through all your pictures. Great stuff.

You said that you use John Reb III rules, what do you think of them? I also have them (had them for years) but I have never played them, as I do not have any minis yet. They look complex and a little dated by modern games. What other rules are available for ACW?

I don’t know about Johnny Reb III but the original rules were a lot of fun. We play quite a few games back then and I really enjoy it. I don’t know if a lot of changes have been made since then but they had charts with quite a selection of different weapons to equip your troops from outdated smoothbore musket to Galting machine gun…

To be honest, theyare a bit complicated for such a big game. As soon as there are a lot of troops firing and in melee, you have to perform morale check after morale check, this can be frustrating for those who are not in contact yet.
I have bought the crusader rules Rank and file this weekend at the Lille show (congrats by the way for the Marie Louise de Flandre for this first show in their town) and these seem more fit for these Mega battles,
we'll test them out a.s.a.p.

Keep us posted on the Crusader's Rank and File rules. After a quick look through Johny Reb III, I am not very keen to use them.
