This will be my next build for Cruel Seas. I will use this plan as a guideline to build different steamers as convoy ships for Cruel Seas games. The model will be around 24cm long.

I will use the same hull with different superstructures to represent different generic steam ships. Like tankers, frighters, passenger liners etc . Here is the start on the hull.

Nice.

Have you thought about skinning your hulls?  I skin mine in thin card (Peter pig pink card in this case!) it gives a neater finish and takes paint well I find.
(Mine are 1/600 BTW!  And the flash makes the coasters look terrible - they are better IRL honestly!)

nice ships ! Indeed . your approach is a neat idea. The next ship I will do will have a cardboard hull as it is a rescaled paper model ,something similar to your approach . Will be a Hunt II class escort destroyer , often seen in coastal waters.
