A Papal Pike Block and more Gendarme

It took a while to get this unit finished but then there are 60 28mm figures, flags and some swanky basing !

28mm Italian Wars Perrys Miniatures done as a Pike Block of the Papal variety, Julius II to be exact or Rex Harrison if your of a certain age !

Stuff is flying off the paint table at the moment so I am taking advantage of the enthusiasm and cracking on with stuff so there are another 6 Gendarme to add the collection.

Bags more photos and details on t'blog.

Fantastic! This is the sort of thing I like to see...

I'm currently working on my own (mostly) Perry pikeblock, also 48 strong (four ranks of twelve) - the front ranks are looking very similar to yours.

And the gendarmes look fantastic all grouped together like that!

Keep up the good work.

Very nice, both the fancy dandy cavalry, and the big meaty block of pikes!

"You dare to dicker with your Pontiff?"

(And one they didn't include: "You can take my paintbrush from my cold dead hands.....")

Good film reference - on a par with your painting and basing of the figures.  Well done on all three!

I liked your post but I meant the figures of course!

Otherwise I would have quoted your quote  :)
