LAF has been a big part of a long road back to a hobby I love, serving as a touchstone from which I draw inspiration and (silent encouragement) from the talent and knowledge that is arrayed in the various discussions and threads.

That said this thread has been dogged and tainted by what I feel is a generally unpleasant and at times provocative input.  I am glad that Ged- (if I may be so bold) has risen above the baiting and I think that  ‘page bump’ response from members was perfect.

We all have opinions and aesthetic preferences and that is as it should be and there will always room for a measured and constructive  ‘critical’ responses.  However, to persistently bait and taunt is uncalled for and if you don’t like this thread/manufacture/minis/information you simply don’t have to read it.

I have been waiting to play Vietnam War games for years, with good miniatures. I have a number of the old FoA miniatures I love, but there are no more of them. With the release of the new and excellent range from Empress Miniatures, I was ready to buy them all, because they are models of Vietnam and from Paul Hicks himself!
But then, I found this thread about another Hue 1968 range from Gringo 40 and I decided to wait until been able to see some figures. When their pictures arrived, I was sure I was going to wait until the release of this range because I liked a lot the "wargames figures" look of these models and I know I´m going to enjoy their painting.

Knowing this is a "work in progress", I have no problem waiting for them in a respectful and patient way, adding my comments and suggestions when they are asked. This is not a competition to release USMC figures in 28mm as soon as possible nor a KS campaign in which we want something ASAP in echange of our advanced money.

Juan.

Brilliant! My only problem is that I am going to end with more USMC figures than I actually need! Well, that's the price to pay for living in a Miniatures Golden Age.

Some nice photos of the upcoming figures.
Now that Paratrooper42 has got his latest opinions off his chest, could we please get back to the idea of this post and forum and discuss the figures and related items please.

I wonder if he'll do this one?

Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

There’s another famous one of Capt Ron Christmas cradling a toy M-16 in his lap. I couldn’t find it but almost worth doing a conversion with a 1/72 M-16.

Yes, I know the one. He's sitting back in a chair on the phone. I wonder if there's any 20mm M16s you could use?
