That said this thread has been dogged and tainted by what I feel is a generally unpleasant and at times provocative input.  I am glad that Ged- (if I may be so bold) has risen above the baiting and I think that  ‘page bump’ response from members was perfect.

I totally agree. I've seen this styleless form of conversation on lesser forums but not here, although I did briefly think perhaps it's always been like this and I just never noticed before. Good to read that is is all rather recent and from just a few low post count folk...

Does that mean that there is an M41 on the park as well?

Great to hear about the M-42.
I have wanted one for a long time.
A M-41 would be so cool.
ARVN needs tank support.

No brother you're not. Only if you're low post count and tend just to grumble.  ;)

Well a hundred or so Australians and a couple of Kiwis. Arguably the Kiwis killed more folk than D Coy, as they were controlling the guns. As an eighteen year old I was required to memorise a screed on the battle prior to being eligible for leave. It’s a truly fascinating battle and one which has been extensively written about.

A feature film about Long Tan has been long rumoured, at one point Russell Crowe was said to be producing one. Thank God that never came to pass. Looks like a decent cast, hopefully it won’t just be a Vietnam version of Zulu, with the NLF subbing as Zulus. Cheers for the heads up!

There is an excellent documentary film on the battle, albeit one with the inevitable errors of detail on kit etc but with an intelligent and pretty accurate narrative, if you are interested.
