The Perry's made me do it: My Wotr project
« on: January 25, 2019, 02:27:56 PM »
I will first admit I know next to nothing about War of the Roses, but the Perry's from their latest campaign have made me dive into yet another period.  I'm basing this army roughly on the Jasper Tudor force from the campaign.  With Jasper leading a household unit of mixed heavy infantry, a unit of Irish Kern Javelins, a small unit of heavy Irish Gallowglass, and a unit of heavy horse.  Characters will be Jasper Tudor, his subordinate John Savage (they most likely served on the field together, but mostly just liked the name)  who will lead the cavalry, and finally the army standard bearer William Brandon killed at Bosworth having been promoted to Hendry Tudors Standard bearer.  Again this is all very loose historically, so forgive any inaccuracies.   Anyone on the the pic's

Nothing like falling down on your first attempt.  LOL

John Savage the head is from and Old Foundry mini

Heavy Horse a mix of the WOTR knights and the new Agincourt Knights I couldn't resist, and there is evidence according to the Perry's that some of these styles lasted into the era.

The light Kerns

The Archers

Almost there just need to build a base of billmen for the mixed unit of house hold troops

I've fallen and I can't get up

Time for a little rest...these last two are my horse wound markers.  My attempts on the infantry ones were not what i was expecting, so will just settling for buying that pack hopefully at Cold Wars in March.

Everything is primed and hopefully get a few painted this weekend.  I will update here and on my blog and on Saxon Dog Painting facebook page as I make progress.  Hope you have fun following along.

Judging from the position of the arrow, that's not wounded..   These look lovely, very much looking forward to seeing these painted up.

They made me do it as well, just found a box of WotR infantry at a Bring and Buy yesterday for £10 and I couldn't resist it. Damn it, I didn't mean to start any more new periods (again)
