This...

X2 to more diggers in giggle hats ‘n’ greens.

Whilst there are photos of engineers kitted up in flak jackets and even a combo of flak jacket and steel helmet (see attached images, one of 1 Field Sqdn RAE, one of 17 Construction Sqdn). The most common sight and most useable in a game would be the two man engineer splinter or mini teams attached to infantry companies and for the most part they would be dressed and equipped just like the infantry they were attached to. Third image shows a member of a splinter team.

That said, I have seen a photo of a mixed patrol of infantry and engineers patrolling by boat wearing the interesting combination of tin hats and life jackets.

Great magazine. ;)

Thanks for the information. Love the engineer idea. :)

I would not read too much into my question. I was doing a lot of reading on Long Tan and picked up a couple of references to Diggers donning 'helmets' when under fire and I was a bit surprised they would have had US helmets that early but knew they never adopted the British assault helmet but just wondered.

Don't read too much into my question we are not planning any in US helmets.  ;)

I reckon there will be ANZACS in the New Year although we now have 5 versions of the Landrover to crew so it may be quicker. If any of you have any good information on those especially the 106 RR version in the field happy to see the pictures.  :)

Four new NVA command figures released.

 North Vietnamese Army command group.

Officer armed with AK47

Trumpeter/ Bugler with Czech made bugle and attached trumpet banner.

Political officer armed with Chinese 7.62mm Sten gun.

Soldier armed with captured M79 grenade launcher wearing a cloak made from an American parachute. This figure is based upon a picture taken by Catherine Leroy at Hue.

Not bad, I could do with a few more NVA with M79s.  :D

I mean with a little bit of work and maybe a helmet change or two.....

Having bought some more NVA, this time in floppy hats, I’m painting them up as main force VC as opposition for my Australians. It’s now occured to me that I really, really need one of these. Minus the mounr it would be a handy item for your Viet Minh range too.

Pretty please?
