Jeez, Paul...you should just have a "Minis of the Month Club', and for a set fee you just charge a credit card on file, you would send folks minis every month automatically...sometimes it seem like that's what I do anyway..... :D

No they are making Ethiopian troops for Korean war. ;D

Here is something to put you off your cornflakes on a Wednesday morning.

I was asked by the guys at Odd Sided Dice Podcast to pop by for a chat about Empress Miniatures and especially our Vietnam range. Interviewed by Mr Ian Weighill who new what he was doing even if I don't this is covering our past, present and future plans etc and was great fun to do. Must confess that I hate listening to me so have not listened to the play back and after you have listened you may agree 😂
However if you want some detail on Empress Miniature then this is worth a listen.
Cheers, Paul

Aaah! What happened, it died after 12 minutes? There were difficulties with syncronicity but the talk was developing.

Thank-you for posting the Podcast. I really enjoyed it.

I empathise a lot with the reasons you started. I am also part of the Airfix generation.
I am looking forward to your BOHICA rules - they sound interesting.

 Keep up the good work.

Plus one to that...MISTER Eaglestone.
By the way I bought Banana Oil & used it on my Airfix
conversions, the ones inspired by Bob O'Brian's series,
'Romans, friends & foes' which was in Airfix Magazine
price a whopping two shillings & six pence (12.5p).
But then I am a lot older than you. :D

I often wondered whether ‘banana oil’ was a crudely disguised euphemism. I remember a late 1970s edition of Military Modelling or perhaps Battle mentioning the then teenage Perry Twins using it on plasticine to sculpt award winning 1/16th scale busts. Ah teenagers! Boys will be boys and all that, especially when it comes to busts.  ;)

Glad you enjoyed it.

Interesting to see that the main thing you came away with was the reference to banana Oil. It kinda sums up the early period of wargames to me  lol

Banana Oil you could get, but my first Wargaming buddy,
one Steve O'Leary (Are you out there Oscar?) got hold of
some Carbon Tetrachloride. If you cut up sprue & put it
into a jar of that stuff, left it for a while (days?) you
ended up with a plastic liquid. That could then be 'painted'
over tissue (cloaks, tarpaulins, lorry tilts etc) & it would set!
Alarm bells would be ringing if you tried it today ::), well we
were only eleven. ;D
