Must be an officer, or his 2nd.  Hate to see the sun beat down on the poor captain without some protection.  Of course, now I gotta come up with a scenario in which to use that chap...

This chap is not for sale its just one of a group of figures I made from existing figures for my collection.

Roger that.  Nice work on him.  Just out of curiosity though, what inspired the umbrella?

Liking the separate helmets.
Not looked at the Empress Vietnam listings
for a while, are they, & bare heads, available
or is it a case of hack-sawing them off a
helmeted head? :o

There are some useful heads available but most of these are hacked off. I will be making a sprue or two in the future. These were experiments.

Got some more ARVN out soon as well.

Looking forward to the separate helmets (& 'empty' heads?)
as well as the ARVN.

I am painting up my Vietnamese civilians and I am a bit stuck on one guy. Specifically this guy https://www.empressminiatures.com/ds7--viet-cong-2552-p.asp nr. 3 from the left.

I cannot really identify his gun. Can anyone help me out?
What is it? Is it some form of cut down Garant rifle?

Model 1936 CR39 carbine French as per product description on Empress site. You have to scroll down a little.

Painting tip: The folding stock on the CR39 was unpainted aluminium. Try a very light grey.

Thanks. I had stared myself blind on that gun. I didn’t realize it was a folding stock.
