Just thinking about when Paul will start on the VC.....I understand they used armbands to identify themselves to the civilians of Hue. It would be great if you could sculpt these so that we don’t need to attach them, it is really fiddly work  ;)....

Most seem to have used small coloured cloth strips pinned or sewn to their upper sleeve. The Catherine Leroy photos in Life Magazine bear this out. Three twists of greenstuff, three fine bits of lead foil or just paint. Bing, bang, bosh!

To answer a few questions and no doubt miss some. :?

The NVA used coloured ribbons as Carlos says. In the scene in Full Metal Jacket there is a NVA corpse in a chair. If you look at his shoulder he has the ribbons stitched on.

Gas masks. The CS Gas was initially used in an unplanned way as a Marine officer found a CS gas mortar in a crate and thought it would be useful in house clearance. When he asked the assembled Marines if they had their gas masks only a few said yes. However it worked and they developed the usage. We thought about a simple head sprue of Gas mask heads. Saves on painting faces  lol

Helmet head bands were against Marine regs however there a lot of pictures of Marines with them on. The next sculpted batch will be without to balance the ratio....... however they do look cool.

Figure of the day;

In the early 1970's we had headbands for our helmets.
In fact in 1972 I found a black one inch rubber band
that I wore for about a year.
No one told me not to wear it.
In fact a number of officers wanted one.

Great photos.

I was just wondering if there are there any plans for a huey crew? A pilot, co-pilot, crew chief and gunner would be good for scenarios and tabletop flavour.
