Just doing test sculpts for the VC to check size and stature etc. Here are some previews.

 The comparison figures are a USMC and a Vietminh officer who works for NVA anyway.

Looking good!

One small request for when you get around to the PAVN/NVA. Don’t just reuse the pith helmets from the Viet Minh range, the NVA ones tended to be a different shape and are quite distinctive.

Its interesting because I am chatting to a customer who does not think that we should sculpt the different nationalities in their 'true ' sizes. Forget scale as that's irrelevant. Its the physical size comparison that's important. Now Empress always has tried to do things based on accuracy especially physical size and its clear that there is a size difference between westerners and Vietnamese.

What do you guys think?

For example;

I think sculpting them as physically smaller makes sense, even taking into consideration the normal size variance of individuals. For me, if they match the Viet Minh, size wise, I’ll be happy enough.

Well we will vary the Vietnamese so there is the odd tall one but its the average that's important.

Though I agree, the example above has about a head difference between the VC and the marine with the M79. Does that match the evidence?

Look at the pictures that I posted. There are huge amounts of picture evidence to show the size difference as well as medical average size comparisons.

I have looked at the photographs, my problem is that the they look like children (except the one in uniform who is only half a head shorter). I am perfectly willing to believe this is the case (and probably caused additional psychological damage to the soldiers fighting them).

I agree on smaller sizes...it really adds to realism and character and very very few ranges do that. Great to see more variety and more realistic sizes!
