Just finished painting and basing some more Marines for my personal use and did a team picture. Still working through the personalities and just about to be hit by a lot more packs so not a true picture but does show the progress so far on the range. 64 figures to date and another load due to be released very soon plus the vehicles and some other stuff. Phew. Not bad for a range development in such a short time and only just scratched the surface.

VC sausage machine now turned on. lol

Many thanks to everyone on this thread for your support on this.  :-*

Looking good and looking forward to the NVA/VC!

Glad you enjoyed the book Paul. Thought that it might provide some inspiration. Marine snipers hiding in the loft spaces! Maybe even a Lt Warr with his PRC25 staring at a dead dog!

Yeah, with the spoon in the mouth  8)

Are you at Partizan so I can return your book? Huge thanks for letting me borrow it.

Paul unfortunately I'm not at Partizan as I'm on holiday  :-[. No need to return the book though. Feel free to pass it on to any customer needing inspiration to recreate Hue! I'm still working on my Phase Line Green boards but really need to get some USMC painted up before the next set of releases! I can also recommend the History Channel film about Hue (on You Tube). Must have watched that dozens of times to try and gauge the height and layout of the Dong Ba tower! Fortunately I found a great aerial photo (its black and white) but it shows the housing nearby. What have you started Mr Eaglestone!  lol

Just painted the Full Metal Jacket characters - fantastic sculpts and part of my small-scale NAM skirmish project of next 12 months.
Keep 'em coming...

Looking good Painterman.

One question which I struggle with myself painting these beauties - rifle slings - what material and colour did they have?

Two types: canvas and later on nylon.
Vallejo colours: Russian uniform or a mix of olive drab & khaki, make a pretty good base.

Canvas top, nylon bottom.

Well the weather is suitable for Vietnam so time for some releases.

This pack is RTO's with one officer based upon Capatin Chuck Meadows who commanded Golf Company 2/5. He led them in a futile attack on the Citadel in Hue.

The other figures are all based upon photographs as is the entire range.

As per usual in this range, and many others, sculpted by the highly gifted Paul Hicks.
