Does it come with a choice of main gun barrels?
With reference to my comment on the T55 thread about my not having done the research, what are the different gun barrels on a T54 with dome turret?

I am very glad to hear that. I hadn't counted on the T54 but now that it's here I will include that one as well. Now just the wait for the remaining Vietnamese civilians and I am ready to order :)

Could I be so bold as to ask for a release schedule for August perhaps?  :)

Potentially three. Plain barrel, barrel with counterweight, barrel with fume extractor. Barrel with fume extractor shown on the Empress T-55, plain barrel on their T-54. The T-55 is merely a continuam of the T-54 series so has most of its features. By the same token T-54s were progressively upgraded during their lifetime to T-55 standard.

Now, leaving aside Chinese upgrades to T-59 clones or Israeli Tirans with actual L7 derived 105mm guns, there’s the fun fact that in the 1972 Indo-Pakistan War the Indians put fake mid-barrel fume extractors on their T-54s to differentiate them from Pakistani T-59s. Makes them appear as if they are armed with 105mm or 20 pdr B type barrels but actually the original 100mm.

Thanks Carlos.

I had not noticed the fume extractor on the Empress T55 (perfectly in proportion, just not as obvious as the ones on L7, L11 or L30).

How did I miss that statement?
So is that "soon" as in August, "soon" as in September, "soon" as in this year, "soon" as in before the heat death of the universe or "soon" as in when I have caught up with all my figure painting?
^___^

Reminds of my grandfather’s pet gripe about the American use of ‘presently’ as opposed to at present. Made for a further element of misunderstanding when escorting Yank bomber formations. Never quite understood why we gifted them the language, they’ve never really got the hang of it. Hopefully they’ll fare better with Spanish.  :D

Of course if Morrissey hadn’t turned out to be such a racist arse-wipe we could have played you ‘How Soon is Now’. Alas, all of the Smiths back catalogue is off the menu for the indefinite future.

 ;)

Many folks don't know much about, the 2nd Korean war. But it's another place you can use your US  Vietnam forces and M1 armed ARVAN for.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Well its difficult to answer exactly just incase something happens and lets face it in today's world a lot can happen to mess up plans. I have a large white board in front of my desk which has all the movements from one area to the next. Being sculpted - at Empress - master mould - production mould - in stock and released - cleaned off. Its currently completely full and has been all this year. This does not include planned sculpting lists which are sent to each sculptor which are very lengthy.

With all our shows closed down for 2020 our next possible show will be in February 2021 so trying to hit deadlines has got kinda greyed. We just release as soon as we can.

As for trying to advise on the BEST time to order to maximise on postage that's like trying to advise which bus to get on. Best to appreciate that there will be a constant flow of busses and hopping on the next one will mean that you may have to hop on another at some point in the future. Postage is done at cost (infact less than cost in most cases) BE WARNED the US recently put up their mail prices by about 50%. It has been announced that Royal Mail plan to do a big increase in early September so I would use that as a guide when buying from another country. Or if you are lucky enough to have an Empress distributor in your country go to them.

Cheers, Paul
