Thanks chaps. I will get the PBR's finished next and then the LSSC's and then do some game pictures to show the river layouts.  ;)

In the meantime there is new stuff coming through the sausage machine so stay tuned in the near future. ;)

A bit of a tease but here is a hint of what's just going through the sausage machine. If you are all good children I will let you see some of the figures  ;)

Ah some gentlemen from Swanbourne!
Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo

Wind forward to 8.37 and there appears to be footage of Lcpl Ron Harris on patrol. Ron Harris was an indigenous man who had previously served in Vietnam with 5RAR. Sadly, Ron became one of the handful of SAS casualties when he was accidentally shot in a blue on blue by in 1969 a member of his own patrol. Sad end to a very fine soldier.

The inflatable craft footage is interesting. Judging by the backgrounds it appears to be part of SAS operations around Phuoc Hoa in support of 5 RAR in the clearance of Long Son island in 1966 (Operation Yass/ Hayman).

Sadly he came back from R&R early as he was bored and volunteered to go out with another group which probably added to the confusion and the reason for the Blue on Blue.

If you can get hold of a copy this book is a good read. 'Behind Enemy Lines An Australian SAS Solider in Vietnam' by Terry OFarrell

The first figure we are showing (and there are quite a lot of these chaps so you can game SASR operations correctly.) is this character who is somewhat unique. This is our tribute to Harry (Ron) Harris.

This figure is carrying an M16 with grenade launcher. The magazine is the long one with 30 rounds.

This figure is based upon Harry Harris. Sadly he lost his life to a Blue on Blue.

The following is taken from 'Behind Enemy Lines An Australian SAS Solider in Vietnam' by Terry OFarrell

“The plan went well and as the two patrols passed, a note
explaining the situation was handed over to the inserting PC. I was
surprised to see Harry Harris, who was a usual member of our
patrol, with the new mob and asked him what he was up to. Harry
replied that having recently returned from R and R to find that we
were out on a job, he had grown bored with life in camp. Hearing
that there was a job on he had volunteered to go out with a strange
mob rather than wait for our return to Nui Dat. I knew Harry well:
we had done Selection together and I had shared a tent with him
since his arrival in June 1968. Ron (his nickname was Harry for
some long-forgotten reason) was a real character who would keep
us amused for hours with his repertoire of card and other minor
‘magic’ tricks. Being Aboriginal, he never used camouflage paint and
usually wore a ‘Tiger Suit’, a type of camouflage particularly suited
to dark, wet conditions but favoured by only a few of the boys in
the Squadron. Nonetheless, there was never any problem with
recognition while on patrol as we were totally familiar with Harry
and his methods. Sadly, this was not the case with the patrol he went
out with and late the next day he was tragically shot and killed in a
blue on blue incident.”
