Our second Walker - to go with Muller's Walker - this is a British TALOS - which was developed in WWI and then later pressed into service in WWII
It can be seen here, and should prove popular with our Pulp following!

If anyone can post a pic of the model please do so! I don't know how!

I guess you're talking about this one

Not as cool as Muller's Walker, I think.

I just remembered,
one of the most beautiful walkers of all time, sitting in my shelf and waiting to be finished for years now:
"I'd like to send this letter to the Prussian consulate in Siam by aeromail. Am I too late for the 4:30 autogyro?"
"Uh, I better look in the manual... This book must be out of date. I don't see "Prussia", "Siam" or "autogyro"...

I totally agree - but it is like comparing a British WWI Tank to a WWII Tiger - their designs are supposed to be seperated by 30 years. As far as WWI technology goes - I think it looks the part

Hey all,

I think that the tall british walker isn't as snazzy as well, but it certainly looks along the lines of a WWI vs WWI set up. I can also imagine it walking accross the desert during the fighting in North Africa, towering over those vickers light tanks! Awesome.

That being said, I think the Warzone walker is a great Wierd WWII walker and I had the idea myself before, hoping to use some BauHaus figs instead of scratch building more walkers...  But on the topic of scratch building walkers, here is my finished Soviet walker. See all the pictures here:

Absolutely - you are obviously on our wavelength - that is in our own background - we thought the simple mechanics would do well in North Africa.

Apart from the Legs - your Soviet Walker is quite close to our own design for the Soviets - even more proof of your genius!

I like the paintjob very much... How do you paint that "dirty" white...?? I think I never painted any Russian tank because I don't know how to paint it that way...

Thanks for the positive feedback! The vehicle is actually a lot easier to paint than it looks, although when I painted my first Soviet tank it took some work getting it just right....

First, you paint the tank completely with a good coat of Russian Green (dark green). This is basically what it would be out of the factory. Then you water down some white paint, not too watery, but enough to make it look watery when applied. This works well because the Soviets actually used a watery white wash to apply the winter camoflauge.

Next, dry brush the areas of the vehicle that have been worn down by people climbing or sitting or rubbing...  On a T34 this would be on the surfaces that were used to sit on and scramble up and down. Aside from that, I like to drybrush in a semi-random but well spaced pattern.

Once the bry brushing is done it is time to paint the chipping. Chips would typically happen where the white-wash was painted on thick, and subsequently knocked off through use, but I use a semi-random but aesthetically pleasing pattern for this as well. I also typically do all the edges. This is painted by simply painting Russian green in little irregular and jagged-edge clumps. Also the odd single little dot here and there really adds to the look.

Finally add some rust. I made the rust by mixing IWM red brown with IWM dune. Then I added tonnes of watter to make it a watery wash. Then apply this wherever you think there should be rust and let it drip and sink into crevices, but don't overdo it. The reason why this works is because in reality the rust would form where the water pools, so the waterly look really works. After that you are done.

Check out my Soviet tanks painted in a similar pattern as well. On the first one I did (my old Tamiya motorized kit) there were fewer chips, but the second one I did looked a bit more pleasing to me. More chips and I added the odd sinlge-dot chip here and there. Check out pics of those tanks starting here:

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the detailed painting advice. I knew your other tank pictures. It looks great. I was always in search of a way to get my tank models a really used and battleworn look. So I will give it a try !

Not sure if it is scratchbuilt, but I would imagine it is...  Perhaps someone who can read french a little better than me could have a read of this site:

http://perso.orange.fr/hobby.one4/index2.htm

The figs is under the neo-prussian gallery at this link:

http://perso.orange.fr/hobby.one4/futurewars.htm

It is certainly a cool fig though...  Perhaps it would make a great Heer walker...

err...  I guess my Russian langauge skills suck. I will totally correct the lettering on the walker. I actually just stole the lettering from the Flames of War site:
http://www.battlefront.co.nz/Article.asp?ArticleID=250

It seems they got in wrong too :/

thanks again,
