[Sellswords] Battle Report: Defend the Farm
« on: February 18, 2019, 02:21:00 PM »
Yesterday I played the fifth scenario of my Solo campaign of "Sellswords & Spellslingers".
The basic scenario was from the rulebook: Defend the Village pg52.

A warband of orcs is terrorizing the countryside. A reward of 50 Silver pieces is offered for every orc slained.

Amron was watching the orcs approaching the pitiful peasants. Normally he would ignore the fate of the poor people, certainly he was not a paladin of the weaks and helpless... however the local petty lord offered a good reward for protecting his subjects, then for money he could make an exception.
The Twins: "Greenskins are coming, my lord... what do you command?"
Amron: "Do you want to earn your pay? Then kill the Greenskins..."

Overview of the board with foes, villagers and PCs deployed.

Border Princes map (red star indicate the place where the scenario is played, zoom the picture)

CABAL of GRACIALE 76xp (2 are unspenct)

AMRON MALIOCCO GRACIALE "the Bringer of Hope"  29xp

Negative Traits: Greedy (-5xp)
Silver pieces: 130 Equipment: Potion of Heal
Amron is the bastard son of the rich merchant and explorer Dante Graciale of Tobaro. He is an half elf. His father never said much about Amron's elf mother. He simply told him that his mother chose his name before abandoning him and that she was a witch. Being an half elf and the result of an illicit relationship, Amron could not be officially recognized by the Graciale family, however his father grew him as his son and he could enjoy a comfortable life. When he was an adult, he finds out to have the spellcaster gift and his father paid a magician to teach him. Dissatisfied with the limiting lessons of his teacher, he decided to begin a journey in the Border Princes, where he could test is magic skills and learn magic faster.

DAETHSKAR "the Dark Knight" 35xp
Traits: Armor lvl2 (12xp), Fighter: Axe lvl3 (15xp), Shield lvl2 (8xp)
Negative Trait: Burly
Silver Pieces: 247
Daethskar is an animated armor, created by Amron during one of his magic experiments.
He is the loyal body guard of Amron. He follows and protects his master wherever he goes.

The TWINS 10xp
Traits: Armor lvl1 (6xp), Danger Sense (4xp)
Silver Pieces: 207
The Twins is/are just a goblin mutant mercenary hired by Amron.

with a fatal shot of his fireball, Amron burns four orcs...
Amron: "I love the smell of burnt greenskin flesh in the morning..." 😈

The peasants flee in random directions.

the Twins are charged by an orc, but he is deafeated.
The Twins: "His head is ours!" 😤

Another orc is defeated by the Twins.
The Twins: "Another head for our bag!" 😋

Daethskar pulls away abruptly one of the peasants to a safe place.

Amron orders the woman to move away in a peremptory tone.
Amron: "Flee silly woman, reach your husband and you can live another day!"

Amron kills another orc with a fireball.
Amron: "Our job is done, the orcs are slained and the foolish peasants are safe... then we can finally claim our reward..."

The PCs gain a reward of 5xp, plus 2xp for saving the peasants and another from the treasure found on an orc body. They receive 300 silver pieces for the six slained orcs.
