June 17 versus June 25-26?

In the year 1876, of course.

What is this nut on about this time, you ask?

Well, let me 'splain myself.

Eight days before Custer rode to glorinfamy, if you will, there was another fray a bit south and a might east of the more famous encounter.

That would be the Battle of the Rosebud or, from the Cheyenne viewpoint, Where the Girl Saved Her Brother.

I've decided to make the earlier battle a stronger focus of my collection rather than the latter - though I'll keep it in the mix.  Rosebud just is a better balance as a war game in my opinion, more cavalry but also infantry and, especially, Shoshone and Crow allies for Crook which may have made all the difference in that battle not having similar consequences to the Bighorn events.

Thoughts?

High watermark of the Indian nations.
A win on the Rosebud, followed a few days later by Little Big Horn.
Unfortunately it is down hill from there.
The campaign as a whole is fascinating & would, I think, be fun
if run as a (disguised scenario) committee game. I just have no idea
how to disguise it enough!
