Medieval Noble's Wagon in 28mm
« on: March 25, 2019, 03:21:15 PM »
Anyone have a suggestion for a mfg that makes one of these?  I can't find one.  Plenty of medieval carts and hay wagons out there, but I'm looking for a covered wagon that he or his lady might ride/sleep in.  I've seen quite a few in medieval paintings that have elaborate designs or heraldric devices on them.  I'd like to paint a couple up for baggage/camp scenes.

Thanks

What about this covered wagon by the Perrys?

Maybe not as fancy as you might be looking for, but adding a bright paint job, a couple of pennants, a few well-dressed servants and a guardsman with livery coat to accompany it should help a lot - maybe also a couple of those nice hounds from Steel Fist.

Thanks!  That's the closest thing that I have seen yet.  I can make that work.

Perrys also do an Italian Carroccio wagon for something a bit fancier, with cloth draped on the sides, but that one is not covered, so would require additional work.

I had someone mention the Roman travelling coach by Warlord games and I think it is the closest to what I am looking for.  Thanks for the ideas everyone.

There is also the Pike and Shotte General's coach.

That Pike and Shotte coach is magnificent looking, but rather too modern for medieval use.

Would make for a great centrepiece for a 17th century skirmish game, with mounted guards trying to protect a nobleman's coach from a bunch of highwaymen or other scum.

If anyone else is looking for one of these, another option that I found is the shepherd's wagon from Old Glory/Blue Moon.  If the horses are changed out, I think that might make a nice medieval wagon as well.  I ordered one of these also.  I'll post some pics after I slap some paint on them both.
