My first book review for 2019 is posted looking at the second edition of Jason Abdale's take on the Battle of Teutoburg in 9 AD.



My first thoughts about what more could be said about this famous ancient battle were quickly overcome by a thought provoking analysis of the events leading up to the battle and his discussion about aspects of it that still remain open to debate.
