Here's the first photo a new cavalry unit in my TYW collection - an Imperial cuirassier unit. The riders are conversions by Martin Buck of TAG figures, the horses are by Perry Miniatures, the flags by Flags of War and the painting by Andrew Taylor.

Unsurprisingly, they've come out extremely well. Along with the Swedes, the cuirassiers are the weakest figures in the TAG Thirty Years War range (at least IMHO), but Martin and Andrew have worked their usual magic on them (the Perry trumpeter does not seem to have received a makeover, probably because he did not need one in the first place : I have him and he's a very nice miniature)

Michel: I agree completely with your comments on the TAG range generally. Good spot on the Perry trumpeter. I hadn't noticed him, and he hasn't been converted, because, as you say, there was no need. The Swedes are a funny mix, but I'm hoping I can make something out of a few of the cavalry figures sometime in the future.

Wonderful painting. Nice to know that the Tag figures fit so well on Perry horses. I mix and match their ECW figures without hesitation.
