Doors for scratch building
« on: February 25, 2019, 11:49:40 PM »
I’m planning a Jekyll and Hyde diorama and would be grateful for some advice.

I wonder if anyone can suggest where I could get 28mm doors - the kind you get inside a Victorian house; not front doors?

Any suggestions for suppliers of Victorian style furniture would also be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions offered.

I am not sure what a Victorian interior door looks like but there are these from Atenociti's Workshop.

Check out the Tichy Train Group.

They have loads of architectural elements in different scales. What you're looking for is in their S-scale range (approximately 1/48), but considering Victorian architecture was often grander than current tastes, slightly larger doors or frames will only emphasize the period character.

For starters, try here: S-Scale Doors...

Another alternative is to find a page of real door photos on the net . Print them out , I printed an A4 sheet with about 20 doors on it a few years ago . Cut and stick the door where you want it and put a matchstick frame around it , simples . The same can be done with windows and frames . 😎
