Punic & Roman Cartagena - Part One
« on: February 28, 2019, 10:31:52 AM »
Following a recent visit to the city of Cartagena in Southern Spain, we took time to visit some of the recently uncovered Roman and Punic archaeology in the city that is starting to give a clearer picture of its development from its fall to the Romans in 209 BC.

In this first post I have looked at our visit to the purpose built all weather viewing centre built to display the ForoRomano Molinete complex of buildings, a first century AD bathhouse, banqueting suite and temple dedicated to the gods Isis and Serapis.

A very timely post - I’m visiting Cartagena for a long weekend in two weeks.

Cheers.
