Cereal packet planes & Autogyros ( pics added 07/05)

I've been sidetracked the last two evenings Sat on the sofa. Making a replacement Fokker tri motor . As I gave away its predecessor. So I took the opportunity to tweak the original cereal packet design. The most obvious change (appart from the dodgy photos) Is the removable flight stand which is nothing more exotic than a couple of CD's and a tent peg. There's a sleeve made from a cut down disposable biro pen glue into the underside of the plane just to stabilize the plane on the stand and to add a little strength.
Also the removal of the rounded underside of the wheels
It may not be to everyone's taste . But there's method in the madness as experience has organically evolved the shape of the wheels . To a design that can take the knocks and bumps of gaming. Far better than a completely round wheel made from cereal packet card .( unbased.)
It's not completely finished .As I know there's likely to be some howlers of mistakes and missed spots in the paint (since we appear to be living in a cave with one candle at the moment.)
I thought it might amuse since I've not mucked around with card on the forum for a while.
Mark.

Im glad you like it. As it's something I've made several of , it does feel slightly fraudulent. As I've all the templates made (and used more than once.) So its more like a lego kit than a scratch build.I even did a rough tutorial on the original.
However It's paint scheme is strikingly different from the original one I made for myself plus its more versatile with the inclusion of the flight stand.

I've been musing over a more useable and quicker/easier to build plane. As a tri motors can be a little on the large size in 28mm.
But I want a plane that has the feel of the Fokker's,Ford's,and the Ju's.
The solution (for me) is the Hamilton's h47. As its smaller and a simpler box construction. The nice thing is either Play with detailing and have a plausible looking model from the same plan. Minor tweak it of the wing position and you've something similar to the Ju's add an engine cowl and it's a different look( plus its a lot easier to build.an cowl)

Mark,
Nice work, yet once again. What does the paint job represent? nation? airline? I don't recognize it.

A lovely model, once again.
By the way, do you shellac the card at all, or just paint it?

What I don't understand, is how you can make some cereal packets look more
like the original aircraft, than I can if I use a kit?!!!!
Great stuff sir.
