Magnetic basing for 6&15 MM. DBA.

Is it better to have magnetic bases and a metal sheet/tin for storage;  or metal bases and a magnetic sheet in the storage box?

Thanks

I use magnetic bases in metal toolboxes.

Some people don't like the look, but I use magnetised mdf bases for 6mm, transported in a metal toolbox. The thicker bases mean that clumsy fingers have something to grip onto - therefore, less broken figures.

Metal bases would force me to get a magnetic sheet for every kind of box I want to store them in, while magnetic bases need a counterpart only in plastic boxes. For metal boxes I don't need to bother. Hence magnetic bases are less hassle and even cheaper.
I use magnetic bases for single basing and element basing, no matter what scale, and employ a mix of plastic and metal boxes.

Hi Ork,

I use pre magnatise MDF bases and the use metal tool boxes of Really Useful Boxes with magnetic sheets stuck in

TinyTinTroopers, in the UK are a great source of these bases.  Great products, great service and great price

Magnet bases, and metal boxes were always my preferred way because I used to use cheap multi-drawer metal toolboxes in Oz. Here in the UK, metal toolboxes are less common, but I still stick to that for element based armies (15mm Ancients etc)  - for modern single based figures I base on 1 or 2p bases and use magnetic sheet, just because cutting out those size of individual magnetic bases is a real pain.
