Not super happy with their faces... but they're done and I'm moving on...

I'm really enjoying this little 'blog' :) .

The scouts are brilliant and the old-school dreads are fantastic... I'm looking forward to everything that turns up now :) .

Loving the old school vibe and paint scheme on the dreadnoughts.

Thanks Guys!

I got in a short, quick game with this force earlier this week - here are a few shots of the action...

After that last game I made some small teaks to the force I'm planning to use for the small tournament next weekend. This past weekend I finished up a few more forces for the Warhost. I still need to paint six Howling Banshees before Sunday...

New Additions: Two more Warp Spiders (to make a full squad of ten), a second squad of Dire Avengers, and a third Wraithlord.

The Dire Avengers.

The Warp Spiders.

All three Wraithlords.

(Almost) the entire Warhost for the upcoming tournament (still have the six Banshees to finish up!)

The Howling Banshees!

I now have my 1000-point tournament force ready for Sunday!

I love this thread, it has inspired me to break out some old minis and get some painting done.

Tim I really love your painting style - do you just use 2 colours and a lot of blackening? Looks so good.

Thanks, I generally undercoat with black then block paint areas leaving black between to give some sharp shading. With these Eldar I've done some edge highlighting in a lighter colour. a few places (skin, hair, flowing drapery, etc) I will paint a darker colour over the black and highlight with a lighter colour. It's simple and fast and good enough for the tabletop.

I very rarely use washes - though I've been experimenting with them a bit more recently.

Another Team Tournament coming up in June has got me motivated to paint up a few more units. Like the Battleforce Recon tournament I played last month, this one is also 1000 point per player, but there are very specific detachments that are allowed, so I can't field the same Battalion I did for the previous one.

In the last week I've finished up the following...

Five more Asuryani Rangers...

To finish off a unit of ten (though I'll only be using 9 for the tournament)

A unit of six Wraithguard...

...and two batches of five Dire Avengers...

...to finish off two squads of TEN Dire Avengers.

The full 1000-point force I'll be using for the tournament in June.

HQ (1-2)
Farseer
Warlock

Troops (2-4)
Dire Avenger(10)
Dire Avenger (10)
Rangers (9)

Elites (0-1)
Wraithguard (6)

Fast Attack (0-1)
Warp Spiders (10)

Heavy Support (0-1)
Wraithlord

Here's what the entire War Host is looking like these days...

Getting close to 100 Power Level/2000 points.

I still have a lot to paint...

Including THESE recent acquisitions!!

Thanks! It’s a lot like my 15mm painting style - i really like it the results you get.
