I don't know man, that Phoenix seems a little out of scale for proper hammer!

He's just near and the Dwarfs are far away.

More Dwarf and Skaven action. This time using the Underway rules.

Factual and accurate Dwarf version of events here:

Those are some interesting battle reports - I'm not sure why I hadn't found this thread earlier.

great stuff,  thanks for sharing. I've enjoyed the photos

Good to see someone out there enjoying rank and flank fantasy games in the classic style.

I started with 5th back in 1996, lots interest with 6th , migrated to WAB and then returned to the fold for 8th. Then GW killed it and I've been in retirement, so its always brings  smile to my metal blackened heart to see some Properhammer games being played.

Inspired by our last game *points up* Stephen and I have decided to replay the Doom of Belegar campaign from the End Times Thanquol book.
It's actually a variation of the Underway campaign he and I played through several years ago with our greenskin armies.
All the games take place underground with (far too many) weird and random rules to simulate playing in a cave.
We've each chosen 3,000 point armies to use including Belegar and Queek. And Stephen has gone a stage further to make his force the special Beattlescroll version from the End Times book which gives him other special rules.

The first game is actually three games as the forces fight ther way down tunnels to get to the heart of the dwarf fortress:

Game One: http://tomstoysoldiers.blogspot.com/2020/09/warhammer-doom-of-belegar-game-one.html
Game Two: http://tomstoysoldiers.blogspot.com/2020/09/warhammer-doom-of-belegar-game-two.html
Game Three: http://tomstoysoldiers.blogspot.com/2020/09/warhammer-doom-of-belegar-game-three.html

Yes, yes Mr Angry Red Warning Box - I am sure I want to post in this thread. It's not my fault it's been over 120 days since I could play a game of Properhammer.

Ahem.

So finally it's sort of safe enough to play toy soldiers in a confined space with a real actual humanbeing.

Orcs and Vampires was the order of the day

Is 8th the last edition previous to the Sigmar fiasco?

6th was pretty good, and the last one I ever bought.

Somehow I was expecting Properhammer to be 1st edition, but I guess that is Oldhammer?

BTW, cool pics! Nice to see battles in progress.

Always nice to see some WHFB pics  :), which edition it is doesn't matter for me, I think has its flavour  ;)

After a long Covid break, we'll probably restart with our group this weekend. We have swithched over to Warhammenr Armies Project, this keeps the flavour of the old mass battle system while improving some of its flaws.

cheers Thomas
These days it's Wargods and Warhammer Armies Project I am working on !

Great fun report there. Good to see Gobs can win sometimes ... if only when they're up against other Gobs.
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

Lovely. The last proper game of Warhammer I ever played (8th edition I think) was Goblins versus Skaven. It was a lot of fun, all the randomness.
