Rebels and patriots AWI
« on: March 11, 2019, 10:57:01 PM »
this was our fourth game with these rules at Wigan athletic games club .

The scenario was a bit improvised but the French/Rebels were in the town and were surprised by the British, who started with most of their forces in reserve. The French had to secure as much of their baggage as possible. The game started with British dragoons and light infantry advancing . The French line and light gun took up positions in the town whilst a unit of rifleman protected the flank. The French and rifles managed to whittle the British down over several turns, the baggage slowly withdrew across the river. The British reinforcements seemed reluctant to face the French and only arrived piecemeal. Colonel D'el Monte was able to inspire some excellent French shooting, the wall providing him and his fusiliers some reassuring cover.....although the British did managed to kill a single Frenchman they held the line, Decimating the 63rd foot. Another glorious French victory!!!!
