Romano-Dacian Battle Casualties
« on: March 12, 2019, 12:38:25 PM »
Work continues with the Romano-Dacian collection with the addition of some battle casualties designed to litter the table once the action starts getting close and personal.

I really think that wargames can look even better with this simple addition to what I would describe as another type of table top terrain or simply with the figures mixed into the units themselves.

Great job there. I agree that this kind of thing really adds to the look of a game, especially if you’re playing battles where whole units may be removed.

Hi James,
Absolutely, its an area of wargaming that has always surprised me somewhat in that I have seen some fantastic looking games in my time with exquisite figures and terrain and with a lavish attention to detail often excepting this one area.

Thanks for your comment

They look great.

I have also always felt that the dead really add some life to a battlefield.

I have started a bit on making my own casualties. The trouble is that once you have painted your entire army the motivation for painting it again only dead is hard to find.

I used to play with some American War Between the States gamers. They used casualty figures for every stand destroyed. It was a really neat way to track the course of the battle over the field/table.
