The black rims on the scutum contrast really nicely with the other colours. 

Out of curiosity, is black the norm for the Spanish?

Thanks for the comments.

There is a fair bit of black on the Little Big Men Studio shield designs I used on the scutarii so I continued the theme on the smaller shields, mainly because at this scale I liked the contrast. It possibly looks a bit heavy when blown up to this size though.
