Are there any solo-friendly games that are big battle but allow heroes to influence the battle and fight duels.
I am thinking of something where some of the decision points are where to move a hero and how to use him/her. I think this would need something where a combat could develop over a few turns. The hero needs to be able to influence a combat - just tip the balance a bit, not in an overwhelming way. Possibly could improve morale, add resilience, add to combat effectiveness. The hero might also try to kill the enemy champion and may affect the battle in this way.
I am really wanting something where an Ecthelion could kill a Balrog, Eowyn destroys the Witch King etc. Something where the battle is the main narrative but the heroic actions can form a sub-narrative.
