First Try at Cruel Seas

I had first first outing with Cruel Seas at the club on Friday with Colin and we had a lot of fun.

I have played the game a couple of times. It is good fun. I would agree that the Vospers are outgunned by the S boats. To balance games out you need to make sure there are far more Vospers than S boats. The only advantage for Vospers is that they are small and very manoeuvrable, espaecially in busy waters.

We also thought that giving the Vospers and objective to torpedo gave them a better chance, after all they were really torpedoe tubes attached to matchwood dinghies with big engines . If the scenario is a straight firefight they are in trouble.

The problem is the vospor MTB were not (Generally) used to counter S boots, the MGBs were and early on the S boots outclassed them all.
Later on when the more powerfully armed MGBs arrived to counter the S boots, the S boots didn't really change. 

The German answer to MTBs was VP and R Boots
The Brit answer to the S boot was the MGB and convoy escorts.

Reinforcements for the British have just turned up!

Two very nice resin castings from Heroics and Ros, very clean with minimal need for cleaning up.

You now have the opposite problem, the Fairmiles now outclass the S-Boots!
