Thanks Heldrak!

These are my "babies"!  ;D I love the "Sengoku" warring states period of Japan. I have slowly been building a "Red Devil" or "Ii" clan army (years!) and these are the latest addition, 16 out of 165 done so far, on the way to around 400. The figures are "Twin Dragons" 15mm Samurai bowmen. I used a "semi gloss" finish on them as they wore polished lacquered armor and it gives the army a really nice look. The flags on the riders are custom, steel wire and cut copper sheet flags. The Generals large banner is done that way too. I love the LPL but I’m finding that it clashes with my usual painting style in that I usually paint based on what I’m gaming at the time and that is most of the time not something that fits in here!...lol! I missed several weeks recently not because I was not painting, I was building and painting the terrain you see in the picture for our Samurai battles, hmmm? There were “five terrain pieces” would that qualify? Lol, oh I guess lpl is still pushing me on!

Cool! Retro Pulp robots against tiny Samurais. Who would have expected such a matchup. Both are very nice, but the Samurai win me over because of their small size, bold colors and loads of freehands.

The samurai are glorious.  I hate 15mm because I'll never be able to paint that scale, let alone this well.  I'm afraid they got my vote.

The Germans are pure pulpy goodness.   The choice of the two helmeted/gasmasked soldiers to accompany the robots is perfect.  That said, the paintjobs of the robots somehow don't mesh with the Germans, for me.  I think it would have been better had the robots been painted in a similar color to the Germans, as if the robots were just another version of a tank, in tank camoflage colors.  Also, I have an item of advice that will help you in your painting from now on: Do not glue rocks onto the top of your base materials.  Rocks never float on top of everything else.  Rather, they are embedded in the surface muck.  I suggest glueing the rocks on first, and then building up the rest of the base around the rocks.

Nice to see some smaller scales doing well in this competition. Too frequently do the larger scales dominate but those little fellers are excquisite, good job!
