My origins, so to speak?
Very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery... Ah, wrong evil genius...
No, I collect minis from a wide range of maudfacturers, scales, periods and styles, not to mention making my own figures when necessity dictates. I paint mainly for wargaming purposes, but I have resorted to prostituting my 'art' and painting to comission on occasion. I have had some pre-painted minis before (em4 figures), and even had figures painted for me by professionals when a wargames project found itself with too little time for completion. The results were largely uninspiring.
Currently, I have a whim for two 'old skool' armies, Austrian and Ottoman of the early 18th century, based on the brief siege of Banja Luka. I'm working on painting a batallion, squadron or battery per week, hence the preponderance of 'toy soldier' style figures in my entries for this season of the LPL. Next season, who knows? it could be 2mm Land ironclad figures on the blocks.
Cheers,
