Have to admit my colonial bias... who makes the Askaris?

Fantastic paintjob Mancha. I think this entry shows the best painting skills this round. The shading, highlights, coloring, conversions and basing are all superb.
Svenn's Askaris look really nice too. The light clothes with dark skin is a great touch as it works well and makes the miniatures pop very well. I do think the background is a bit too busy as it detracts from the miniatures. Other than that it's a great entry.

Awesome painting on the space wolves Mancha! The askari's are nice too but the sunlight makes it difficult to see the painting, and it's hard to compete with such soft hightlighting anyway.

Thanks for the comments about the Space Wolves.  I painted them long ago, when I was a much more careful painter and regarded perfect blends as being absolutely necessary.  I'm incapable of such stuff now.  I hated to enter them, because I don't have a great deal of regard for Games Workshop nowadays, but I was unable to finish my intended entry, despite some late nights.  I suggested to the Captain that he name them last-minute-pathetic-replacement-team, but it seems he preferred the alternative name.

The Askari's are excellent.  I suspect that if five of them had been photographed closer up and under better lighting, I'd be losing this match.

First entry looks great, but I have to agree, the lighting almost is too bright to see the detailing which looks very nice. The second entry is quite nice as well. I like the wolf skin pulled over the leader...neat looking figure!!

I think the Askari are Anglian Miniatures - beautiful figures and if TMP is to be believed the company went up for sale today!!

Ouch!

I've just recently started exploring the gems in the Anglian range.  Their sculptor, Paul Hicks I believe, does a very fine job indeed.

Wow, that sucks!  I thought Nigel was doing great things with the SCW, although I don't much care for the recent Riff Wars direction he was taking.  I'm sure it will be bought up though.
