Would This Do As A Quick Asphalt/Concrete Surface?

Check this out:

If not for above ground, then perhaps as a flooring surface for gaming inside a bunker or base.

Thoughts?

Yeah, if you live in US which is the only place they will ship.  Sadly not much use to a European based forum.

Lol.  You give up too easily.

Just look up grunge vinyl photography backgrounds in your regional/local version of ebay and Amazon.  There are lots of these China-made backdrops sold around the globe.

Sounds like a good option, but it's tough to say at the scale of those pictures.  I'd wonder if it would look grainy at tabletop distances.  And it's got one terribly unhelpful review.

I use picture frame matting for my asphalt and concrete, the slightly pebbeld finish. Takes paint well, can be roughed up and gouged easily, and is easy to work with.

Depending how robust it is, it might make a useful gaming surface for urban games. The available sizes seem to offer decent table coverage.

Dan,
I use 18 x 18 flooring tiles for my gaming, usually on a 3 x 3 board, so they work fine.  That surface looks pretty good, and for $9.00, you may want to get a couple of different ones.

Nick:  “You may want to get a couple of different ones”

Indeed!  I’ve placed an order for a few types:

https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=115965.0

And I’ve just ordered this 3x5ft one for a basic city asphalt/tar surface, on top of which one can add the buildings, sidewalks, etc.:

I hope it ends up looking the same as in the picture.

By the way, here’s their 5x7ft one, if that interests you more:
