There's a bunfight going on about Salute and the quality of this year's offering going on on another certain forum. Some are whingeing about too much sci-fi, too many small 4 x4 games, how the big spectacle games aren't as prolific, the terrain wasn't of a high enough standard etc etc (the usual moan I think).
To put things into some kind of perspective someone from the Antipodes has recently posted about their upcoming convention, the first in several years. They are currently getting themselves worked up into a frenzy over the prospect of seeing 5 games ( yes 5!) and hopefully 8 traders in the same premises at the same time!
I think some of our hobby members need to realise they live in a golden age of wargaming. Never have they been so utterly spoilt for choice, so blessed with quality figures and superb scenery, so many brilliant rules for different periods appearing annually, so overwhelmed with paints inks washes and sprays, or so wealthy enough in both time and money to be able to enjoy this feast of goodliness.
So why don't they give over moaning?
