Egyptian themed scenic pieces in 28mm
« on: April 18, 2019, 01:40:53 PM »

Looking for suggestions to decorate an Egyptian themed dungeon crawl in 28mm.

Canopic jars, sarcophagus, alters, statues, columns etc.

Any suggestions gratefully received. :)

Scotia Grendel have some doorways, obelisks a sarcophagus, columns and other stuff.

On Amazon you can also get an aquarium decoration in the shape of the head of a colossal statue.

Amazon aquarium head, with old metal Sister of Battle for scale.

Scotia Grendel door 1 with same Sister

Scotia Grendel door 2

The whole 2' x 2' board, columns also from Scotia Grendel

He will you know. Coz everyone knows there's some on Mars.

I think I did some basic bits for the Sally4th's scenery sets.(but that was a while ago so I could be wrong.)
Mythical Dungeons also do a range of tiles with an Egyptian theme..( using Hurst moulds). I know some of the rooms are in kit form and would be a doddle to use as individual scatter terrain.

You should check your local "dollar stores" …or "pound stores" ...maybe even pet shop for aquarium accessories.

Some of the Reaper Bones figures could be painted as Egyptian statues too.
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

Well I used some acrylic necklace beads as storage jars. Found a massive bag of random ones in a craft shop. Maybe could stick some suitable small animal heads on them for the Canopic jars?

I looked and looked for this picture. Then realised I hadn't put it on my Blog. I added it so you can see what I meant about the beads I mentioned.

The beads may be a bit large for Canopic jars. But I think you can get much smaller ones.

Left and right of the photo. Could still be useful as just storage jars like I have them too.

I think you may have already seen this, but just in case you haven't, I have a lot of Egyptian themed pieces in my 28mm Pulp Egypt gallery... it's an archeological dig.  That gallery includes a lot of pictures and a lengthy write up about what I used in putting it together.  You can see it if you go to my gallery website and scroll down and click on that specific gallery.  That gallery is identified by both a picture and a title.  The website is located at www.warin15mm.com

Aside from the ones already mentioned, both Reaper and Armorcast have a variety of Egyptian statues and obelisks, some available both intact and ruined.  Armorcast has an obelisk whose hieroglyphic carvings include a clown with balloons, although it's hard to spot unless you're looking for it.
