Had a little hiatus from painting for a bit... then stepped away from my Rackham stuff to finally start working on my GoT game so I could have a unit ready by season 8... just about made it. Up first, the Lanisters

lovely paint-jobs. the basing really works beautifully too.
look forward to seeing more.

I'm getting into this range - together with the dark sword metals.
amazing sculpts and decently larger than 28mm too.

Fantastic basing-work! And nicely done with the Lannister lads.

How much bigger than 28mm are the figures, out of curiosity?

HappyChappy - don't want to dilute the OP's thread - but the Dark Sword metals appear to be 32mm (poss. even 35mm depending on how you judge these things), assuming they're consistent.
I've only one box of the plastics from the TTG - the cragmanon goobers or some such - and they're as big as the metals and a little bulkier (but basically match well).

Having said that Akula has a thread on his GoT figures, showing cmon plastics little larger than a copplestone so ... 'go figure'.

useful pics gibby - bears out what I'm seeing withthe few figs I have (and what the Dark Sword's Mr. Ludwig emailed me in response to a query - that the metals and plastics match well, the former being a little more slender).

Beautiful paint job, but ironically that group photo actually puts me off of buying the mini ....  :?

The horse armour looks odd, and the shield looks daft ...my main gripe with the CMON range is that the sculpts look like they were designed to purely appeal to Warhammer players (and who knows maybe they were and perhaps that is a sensible strategy given the success of the range).

I might just opt for the Darksword version, or get the foot figure and replace the oversized shield.

None of which is meant to take away from the painting, which as I said at the outset is excellent.

Fantastic paintwork, that's some really top notch shading and highlights on ol' Greg Cleg!

The DarkSword guys definitely have more finesse. I'll probably do those up too similarly once i finish all the other 200 guys i have left to do to get this game on the table properly... thanks for all the compliments, this is my first time doing any sort of movement trays so I've been experimenting with how the terrain on the bases interacts with what I do to the trays, I'll also be using these guys for games of Dragon Rampant and the sort, so I love that the movement trays are optional... Halberdiers up next!

Keep going mate - your paintwork is excellent, and my comment about the style of some of the CMON figures is just personal preference.

I have got some of the CMON wildlings as they fit in with my own interpretation of Westeros, while some of the Houses don’t...it’s the great thing about wargaming that you get to build things how you want them.

Lovely painting as many others have said, but I'll add that I really like your bases. Can't really articulate why, but they look good.
