At SELWG I bought the Empress Cadillac Gage Commando armoured car/wheeled armoured personnel carrier.

Originally issued to ARVN forces, they were also issued to US Army Military Police and US Airforce.

The model was painted with Humbrol 155 Olive Drab spray. The windows were painted with  Vallejo Night Blue, highlighted with Citadel Caledor Blue.

I used two sets of Rubicon DCUA007 Willys MB decals (for the Military Police labels) and theoretically one Rubicon DCUS002 M4 Tank decal sheet

The US recognition stars in front of the side doors use the Rubicon 8mm decals, the ones on the rear half of the upper hull are the 5mm ones - all from the DCUS002 sheet.

I added a jerry can from the Empress stowage set. A shovel from the same set together with a piece of plastic rod make up the pioneer tools on the rear of the vehicle.

A US Military Police XM706 provides fire support and cover for US Marines on the streets of Vietnam.

So, I needed an officer to lead my US Marines.

I chose the Captain Christmas figure from the Empress NAM-12 pack, but painted up as a generic officer rather than the historical (and still living) person.

The uniform is painted a slightly darker green than the marines, and the webbing is the later nylon green.

Leading from the front.

The M79 40mm grenade launcher looks like a large calibre shotgun. They provided close support to the rifle armed US Marines.

This example has not been careful with the application of sun cream and is looking a little burned.

Not quite sure why, but I might re-highlight the flesh tones.

This statue base is by Blotz (but is really for Tales of the City, but I do not have any suitable figures for it painted).

Three US Marines shelter while returning fire.

Of course it is usable anywhere, William Killian for scale.

Thats a nice reusable terrian peace.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.
