The word has connotations of a slight degree of eccentricity.

Well, there's some fine Anglo-Saxon understatement for you!   The boffins were mad, entirely mad, and the stereotypical boffin of literature is the kind of fellow who can do six-factor integrals in his head, but can't remember to wear socks.

More boffins:

Geoffrey Pyke
Barnes Wallis

Alan Turing is another classical boffin, and if you've read "Cryptonomicon" then Lawrence Pritchard Waterhouse might count, except he's disqualified on the grounds of being American.

After we've released some WWII & Plains Infantry packs late next week we'll be releasing a new batch of Thrilling Tales (I have no idea what they are though, but Mike tells me to expect another 9 or so)

Dylan
I'd wait a week then Grimm - or you'll have another AGGGH I suspect!

And some brownshirt Nazi's?

SA and Allgemeine SS would certainly trigger some serious itching in my fingers.... I like Bob Murch's female SS troopers, but they're really an oddity....

The chap on the left reminds me of Alan Turing a little actually and his secretary is wearing a great period outfit.

Lovely work from Artizan as usual...I do wish they'd stop torturing me with talk of '9 new Thrilling Tales' figures of unknown provenance though!

British spacemen would indeed be nice :-)
The latest work I've managed to sneak a peek at on Mike's desk  is a mad german scientist ( With a mask covering half his face aka phantom of the opera)
And I think there might be some female french resistance types coming ( Listen carefully, I shall  say this only once...... )

As for the others, they exist only in Mike's mind as yet......

I'll pop in to give you more news as I learn it and I'll try to get early preview pics to you here  within a couple of weeks.

You're good people and good things will happen to you.   :)

If these appear in time I'll order some at the end of the month.

Now listen carefully, I shall say this only once......

Here's a preview shot of a resistance figure Mike has made.
We're a bit behind with our next pulp release so they wont be out for a good few weeks yet sorry.  (  There's a nice mad scientist with a metal faceplate over one side of his face too but it's tooo early to take a photo yet)

Fantastic!  That's exactly what I've been after.  :-}=

I was going to order a few more Thrilling Tales bits next week, but now I know to hang on just a little longer.

Dylan, Do you think Mike may make a couple of male resistance fighters to go along with the ladies?  :)

One of those had better be an old man disguised as an onion seller (or was it garlic seller?)  :D

I hope he does - lots of potential for stereotypical beret wearing/ cigarette smoking frenchies with onions etc :-)

And I would love to see a fat bar owner too come to think of it. old BBC sitcoms have so much potential dont they ;-)  (   Aint half hot mum maybe ?)

All ideas welcome as usual guys.
