1940s French garage
« on: April 28, 2019, 07:25:30 AM »
Driven by a desire to bring more detail to the table I've set about creating a garage based around Charlie Foxtrot Model's MDF 'Workshop' building in 20mm (or 1/72 as Charlie Foxtrot describes it). Just as suitable for France 1940 as it will be for Normandy, I hope to get lots of use out of it. There's a full step by step guide through the build here https://thetacticalpainter.blogspot.com/2019/04/building-1940s-french-garage.html

The main building was based on the Charlie Foxtrot 'Workshop' which I had made and painted some time ago. It needed some extra work, not least of which was a decent roof to conceal the tell tale MDF roof.

The highlight was the totally lucky discovery of these marvellous extras from a model railway supplier:

Coincidentally, I have been building a French garage as well...   not as nice as yours, and in 28mm, the basic shell is from Mango Terrain - for the princely sum of £7 plus postage.

More pics of the basic shell here:
