Quick French/Austrian question
« on: April 28, 2019, 10:38:48 AM »
I think I know the answer but I’d just like to check. Would the Victrix 1804-1807 French infantry work with the Perry 1809-1815 Austrians (early ones)?

I’m certainly not a fanatical button counter and usually go for a good looking game rather than complete figure accuracy but if it could be the case that I could just about get away with it then that would be preferable  :)
cheers

James

The Austrians are wearing the later high waisted coat. If that doesn't bother you then put them in helmets and away you go. Or put them in a mix of helmets and shakos (as in 1809) and use later French in shakos. I'm sure it would look fine. Anyone anal enough to complain should be ignored.

With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

The French Legere regiments did wear shakos at this period.

I’ve only got figures with bicornes and it’s not supposed to be a big project lol
