The civil war rumbles on in West Wales as I take a look at the forces of Prince Albert, Lord Protector (all models from the collection of Al 'Skippy' Broughton):

Always love the interesting histories and uniforms used in the VBCW settings.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

It's truly amazing what a rich seam of ideas local history reveals - some of it is so bizarre that I couldn't possibly have made it up... The 'Onion Wars' between Norman and Breton onion-sellers is a particular case in point.  All I need are suitable figures...

Agreed, I wish we could get something like this to catch on in the states. We had all kinds of crazy political national and local events the could lead to an American verson to.
Some day....   ::)

I didn't have to look very far for my inspiration...
My grandfather worked for a young Baron who was a leading light in a strange quasi-fascistic organisation called the 'English Mistery', which sought de-industrialisation, a return to the land and a return to feudalism - a sort of 1930s Green Party.  That Baron's grandfather had been an East Prussian 'Graf' and hussar officer, who eloped with the daughter of a Pembrokeshire lord and was then given an estate locally, which he filled with bears and wolves for hunting - he also became Colonel of the Pembrokeshire Yeomanry and drilled them from the Prussian hussar manual...

And then there's the man I know locally who still lives in the manor his ancestors built, who is Oswald Mosely's nephew...

And then there's the time that William Joyce (Lord Haw-Haw) came to stay...

And then there's my great-uncle, who led non-violent Welsh Nationalist protests against RAF training and re-armament...

And then there's my distant relative 'Twm Carnabwth', who started a national rebellion, whereby men dressed up in women's clothing and went out to smash the toll-gates (and sometimes the skulls) of the land-owners...

To put it mildly, this part of the world is feckin' nuts anyway and requires very little embellishment.

Marvalus! I think the biggest problem in the U.S. for something like this is are current size. But I did write up tons of info for a Seattle Soviet in a 1930s setting useing the Pacific Dockers strike as a start off point.
Was thinking of useing Empress SCW Republican line to represent the diffrent Syndacilists Unions and useing brigade games Caribbean banana wars USMC as silver legion fascist.
Sadly no one makes inter war US Army and I am not a fan of many of the current great war Yanks available.

With apologies to commissarmoody, enough of the States! Save on travel : we just need to get you and your splendid armies to fight once more in a Herefordshire1938 Big Game! (next one coming in October). See this blog for a take on Prince Albert as Lord Protector and his forces in the vicinity of Ross on Wye : http://myvbcw.blogspot.com/2019/03/auntie-bettys-scrapbook-part-two-some.html

Bloody right!  I loved my one-and-only Hereford game, as recounted here:

http://www.jemimafawr.co.uk/2018/10/03/a-very-british-civil-war-in-pembrokeshire-1938-the-battle-of-titley-junction/

However, since the glorious victory of the Army of the Republic of Cantref Cemaes at Titley Junction, they keep organising games for when I'm working and/or out of the country... I think it was something I said...

More like:
“Ni allaf gystadlu â Syr Gilbert rhyfeddol ac felly ymddeol, bychanu a bychanu“

nb: this translation supplied by Signor Giacometti of the Cardiff Bulk Importers and thus may be eccentric.

The Bishop of Ludlow blesses you both (as with all God's creatures)
and looks forward to your future meeting (trusting that such will not
long be delayed, if the Lord wills it) in the Golden Valley, H'fshire.
