For photos this one is excellent, of course it covers much more than Vietnam.

I like the look of that...

Only other title that keeps popping up ( not read it yet), is 'Behind Enemy Lines: an Australian SAS Soldier in Vietnam' by Terry O'Farrell

Very good read with quite a lot of information although some more detail would be needed such as weapons used etc. Having said that there are some useful scenario titbits such as how easy it was for the 30 round mag on the M16 to drop out with occurrences a few times whilst on patrol at night with members having to retrace their steps to find missing kit, magazines, grenades etc. Something that I had never thought of.

Plus some fun with Gibbons.

I literally just bought a copy, arrived yesterday. Still at the start and so far so good.

Yeah, this is why its so helpful to get other opinions. The Tiger Stripe trousers are going.
I've got another set of the figures coming (some will fall victim to the razor saw...), so I'll probably redo those two then, the one with the Tiger Stripe shirt might stay as he is, for the moment anyway. I'll leave the beret and bush hat as Tiger Stripe.

I have tried it before on some of the SEAL conversions and thought those looked alright, but on these I'm just not liking the look.

SEALS

Here's a picture of a chap sporting the two tone look, probably where the idea came from in the first place.

ARVN are up to the tiny badges stage, I'll post some pictures once done.

Love these.

They look great to me.  I especially like the chap firing the AK, with the ERDL blouse and tiger stripe trousers... :D

Good man.  Can't have them go into combat with dodgy trousers.  What would their mothers say?   :D

Those are simply amazing. Really top notch brush work there Ash.

I must admit I didn't mind the mix 'n' match look but if the SQMS is prepared to meet a maint dem for new strides in the field then more power to you! You might just need a 9 Sqn Huey now.

It's funny, the Seal conversion with the mixed kit is one of my favorites, really happy with the way he turned out.
Yet the darker trousers thing on these just didn't work for me.

I had another go at Tiger Stripe on another pack.

I'm going to go back to a black background, the white seems to have quite a 'wash out' effect on some colours, or could be the matt varnish.
