Yes - more great work!  That ARVN ERDL copy looks good so far, even with Carlos' point about ARVN M113 crews....

Whilst the M113 could be tasked to carry rangers, the crews would have come from an ARVN Cavalry squadron. There was a cav squadron (battalion sized) attached to each division, save for the Airborne and Marines. It's probably more likely that they would  be in plain green fatigues rather than camo but certainly not impossible. The ARVN armour beret was black like the RAC, RAAC version.

Good info, thanks. That probably explains why my search for ARVN Rangers M113's drew a blank.

Unfortunately (for me) I've already gone down the camo & tiny badges route, so... either they are rangers who have 'liberated' the APC in their scary helmets, or I could get more crew and paint them differently. That would then mean I could add legs to the beret bloke and give him an M16 & some webbing, could do with some extra bi-pods for the M60's...

Nice additions! I have my ARVN at the postoffice have to collect them tonight and get started, too

You'll have fun with these, bags of character, look forward to seeing how they turn out.

Everytime I check your thread, you have added another fabulous addition to your collection Ash.

Lovely work buddy 👏

Cheers mate, glad you like them.
I'm amazed I've managed to keep the enthusiasm going so long, this must be a record for me. Usually would have burned out a long time ago.

It's a good point about the crews/& APC's being from Cav units, will be something for me to research; so may get another set of crew & use these blokes for conversions.

Also added scary helmet detail to a couple of the other figures:

Rather liking the conversion route for these blokes now. I have a spare 'gunner' from one of the jeep crew packs, could swap his legs onto one of the ARVN M60 chaps (give him some webbing) then use his original legs on the beret bloke...

Why not use one of the gunners as a jeep gunner? Standing MG figures are also ideal for sandbagged bunkers or cut at the waist, weapons pits.

Of course if being used as an APC, you may well have Rangers manning the M60s in the back but the blokes driving and commanding the bucket would be armour troops.

Thanks very much for the info re armoured cavalry. I think I might hide the decal on the APC with some mud or stowage.
Jeep gunner is a good idea, I don't have any jeeps yet and the skinny trouser boys would look the part.
Looking at the spare parts I have at the moment I've talked myself out of swapping the legs, as the spare parts figure has the US trousers with the big pockets.
Simplest thing is to just paint the commander figure a green shirt & a black beret, then leave the M60 gunners as they are, the driver is in his slot already and can hardly see his shirt, so I'll leave him as is.

I'm quite tempted to get the PBR crew (Kelly pack) to man some bunkers; the bloke with the towel around his neck could donate his legs to an ARVN and swap for the jeep gunner legs, and the bloke with the cut down BDU shorts and flip-flops could look rather good justas he is ( would need to make another bunker...)

Thanks a lot.

Thanks, I could definitly do with a more varied selection of stowage items in my bits box ( which is just about empty).

Here's some more pics:

Thanks Carlos. The green shirt was a good call, had a go at a different badge on him aswell.

Thanks Tomromel.
It's interesting (to me anyway) how different this looks depending on the angle it is to the light when photographed. On the 3/4 views all the grime is dominant, then just a slight offset and the green pops out.
