I've given up even trying. I just roll the stuff out, squash it flat then attack with sharp things.
If something looks too big I chop bits off. Quite a variety of thicknesses in there, the terracotta stuff (being rather old) didn't squash as well as the yellow, also went really stiff alot quicker.

Thanks for the sand bags tips. I will try to just get it done rather than fussing over size consistency.

This project gets better and better - well done  :-*

The only tip I can think that works for me, is using greaseproof/baking paper to roll the stuff out on , I then fold the paper over the Milliput to squash it.
Stops it sticking to anything, then leave it for 10-15 minutes to stiffen up a bit, prior to attack with scalpel blade time.
Use the same paper for making self adhesive grass tufts, as they peel off easily.

Excellent work mate, what I also do is get an old t shirt or kids sock and lightly press it on top of the sandbags before they're dry, leaves a fabric imprint that shows up if drybrushed. I'm sure you know this already, but I wouldn't worry about a consistent size, whenever I've been in charge of sangar building I've put 3 or 4 pairs filling and 2 or 3 building, the fillers soon get sick of doing the regulation 3/4 full and all sorts of sizes turn up lol

Thanks guys.

Still waiting for some more Milliput to arrive, in the meantime I started colouring in. (Please excuse shite photos...)
Roof will be sand bags.

Found a last offcut of corrugated plastic stuff, so made half an ammo storage bunker/thing.

I had an old off-cut from a bandage that left a good texture imprint, it seems to be hiding or inadvertantly consigned to the bin.
Must say I took the lazy route with a lot of these and just tried to smooth over any finger prints. There are so many still hiding in plain sight that finding them could be turned into a game.

Ugh.  Not a fan or licorice (please note I've spelled it correctly here... :P).

But some poor bastard(s) had to fill all those f***in" sandbags.  Oy....

Looking forward to seeing the while firebase set up....should be a stunner!
