blood and plunder
« on: May 26, 2019, 03:58:53 PM »
Hi, was thinking of buying the ruleset for Blood and Plunder, my question is do you need to buy the unit and character cardset as well or is this optional ?
thanks

Brian

From memory all the unit profiles are in the main rulebook (or expansion) so it isn't essential but the unit cards are very handy references.

Same goes for the unit activation deck and the status marker dice.

You don't need anything other than the rules and a couple of packs of normal cards.
It's a nice set of rules (although the activation system is slightly fiddly as you have to keep track of how many times a unit has activated).
The unit cards do help in two respects; we found that without them we kept forgetting the special abilities of each unit, and also they have the points values on them so make it quick to set up a game.

Skip check in your local area see you have a QuarterMaster who can show you the game.  We are more than happy to run demos for people interested.

Basics to play the game are listed below.

Ruleset
D10 dice
Activation Cards (Can be playing cards)

Templates, Counters, and rules card.  https://www.firelockgames.com/downloads/

Other than that you can add as you go.  One big thing to use is Firelocks online army list builder https://forcebuilder.bloodandplunder.com/ which is very easy and simple to use.  Also prints out all special rules for units you have selected.
