EBob RECON28 ?
« on: May 27, 2019, 11:01:02 PM »

Okay so this might be beating a dead horse - But most threads about it are years old...

Did the Vietnam models from EBob ever get released?

Does anyone have contact with him?

In light of recent Vietnam releases from other companies, I'm hoping they will get released - If not by EBob, then by others...

They look like really cool models - Would be a shame to waste!

As far as I know, nothing came of it.

I'm hoping to stir up some attention tho... Maybe that'll revive the project somehow! :D

From past experience, the Ebob figures will be very small compared to Empress and Gringos.

I am sure that we will get suitable figures from one of them sooner or later.

Release date is 2075 for the 100th anniversary.  ;)

Given even the website that showcased them and rather bizarrely sold palm trees has gone tits up, I think the answer is no, highly unlikely.

Agreed with Mick, they would have been tiny anyway. I have Ebob sculpts from other ranges. Someone picked up the Chinese he sculpted for Col Stone, they are effectively slim 25s. Friend of mine pointed out that on the prone figures one leg was longer than the other. Maybe they are meant to be Mountain troops?

I also have the sculpts he did for TARV. Again very slight figures albeit a bit taller. Detail is pretty soft, truth be told.

We used eBob for our Canadian range, and they size perfectly with Radio Dish Dash's Skirmish Sangin range, Spectre, and Empress - I suspect it's all in the direction given by the commissioning agent.

Interesting, so he is still "active"...

Alex, do you still have contact with him?

That would be really awesome - I've tried to contact via FB and mail, but it would mean more from a persone that has regular contact...

Seems the time is ripe for these models to be released or remade!

Were these the 'greens' that looked like Australian SAS blokes with SLRs?

Yep, plus there was a five man pack of LRRPs and another of VC. Given the first two were apparently cast up, it seemed odd tgat they were never released.

Never saw the LRRPs, found pics of the two I remembered, will go and hunt for the VC...

These are the VC and LRRP sets, that was previewed way back... They cast in metal, which would suggest they where ready for release..

I really hope they get released, if not by Ebob, then by someone else!

They look rather nice, seems odd to me that someone would go to all that trouble and not at least flog enough to recoup their outlay...
