Count Nils Brahe was a rising star in the army of Gustav Adolf, and a favourite of the King. Brahe commanded the Yellow brigade at Lützen, 1632, where he was wounded, and died two weeks later from the wound. I have modelled him bravely leading his regiment in to the 'teeth of the gale', so to speak!
The Yellow brigade were very roughly handled at Lützen, 1632, and an Imperial account described them reduced to 'hills of corpses'. This is partly ascribed to them having 'forgotten how to run away' !.
