Empress/ Gringo Marines size comparisons
« on: June 03, 2019, 11:49:12 AM »
There have been a number of requests and as my Gringo marines just arrived.

Excuse the shitty iPad photos. The partly finished Empress figures and Gringo versions have been matched as far as I can towards pose type. I only have the first four Empress packs to hand. As you can see the Gringo marines are husky chaps, quite a bit taller and beefier than their Empress brethren. I suspect that difference will mostly disappear under a coat of paint but I suspect I will probably file down the bottom of their bases, which being textured are notably thicker than the Empress ones.

Empress, Gringo Empress, Gringo etc from left to right. You get the picture.

Thank-you for posting these

They look as though you could mix them quite well. I don't mind differences in body sizes.

Is there a noticeable difference in the size of the weapons?

Mick,

Upon close examination the weapons are slightly bigger but you have to look fairly closely, at table top distance I don’t think you would notice. Overall, I think they will work together.

Yes,  thanks for the comparisons.

I now wish I had used the Renedra bases rather than Warlord lipped ones so I could use the Warlord ones for the Gringo's figures.

Thanks for the photos.
It looks like they will look good on the table together.
Happy about that.

Thanks for the comparisons, very helpful!
The Gringos seems to have more ”movement” to them, I think I need some. Great to see the CH-46 next to the miniatures, that one went directly onto the shopping list  ;D

Yep. It has gained a bit more battle damage to the original kit though. Easy to do with a plastic kit.

A good idea to compare sizes, but could we have a close up picture as I can't make the size difference or detail out - the figures look too far away
Thanks

There are literally pages of close up photos of the two ranges on their respective threads plus others painted far more artfully than mine. The intent was to give height/ bulk comparisons from a gaming distance.
